Striking Gold in Your Tank The Golden Rabbit Snail (Tylomelania sp. Gold) offers a brighter, sunnier look compared to its Orange cousin. Its body ranges from a deep, rich yellow to a “gold dust” color, which stands out instantly against green plants or black soil.
What You Are Buying: We ship healthy, active specimens sized between 1.0 to 1.5 inches. This is the perfect age for adapting to new tank conditions. As they mature, their shells will continue to grow longer and more spiral-shaped.
Care & Behavior: Just like the Orange Poso, the Golden Rabbit is incredibly peaceful. They are excellent burrowers that help aerate your substrate, preventing gas pockets from forming. They are completely shrimp-safe and will not eat healthy plants if provided with adequate food.
Diet: They are heavy eaters! We recommend supplementing their diet with:
-
Calcium-rich invertebrate pellets (Crucial for shell health)
-
Blanched vegetables (Spinach, Green Beans, Zucchini)
-
Algae wafers
⚠️ Water Requirements:
-
pH: 7.5 – 8.5 (Alkaline water prevents shell erosion)
-
GH: 4 – 8 dGH
-
Temperature: 26°C – 29°C
